Okay, so I’m still on a No Other Woman high…
While it could be mostly because of Derek Ramsay’s abs and maybe his delectable-looking bum, I must admit that this latest offering of Star Cinema was definitely interesting to watch.
I caught the film with my girl friends (and I’m glad I caught it with them because of the regroup that followed). My friend C and I got so involved in the story that we were mumbling our commentaries (apologies to the ladies seated behind us) for every scene. Then again, we do that for almost every other movie we watch, so….
But, here’s a fair warning: It’ll kinda get you thinking about the lengths we go to when we fall in love. In as much as many strong (or nagpapaka-strong) women think that they wouldn’t get affected by a supposed fling, the unspoken promises of possibility can make many an independent woman buckle down…“kasi pag-in love, nababaliw.”
And, aminin! We’ve been there and have done so many things in the name of love that some of us would really rather forget. At the end of all the loving and feeling, don’t we just want it all to be worth it? And thinking about it, would pulling all the stops be worth your reputation and sanity? What’ll make the effort worth it anyway: winning the guy or mustering enough courage and pride to just let go? I must say that Anne and Cristine were able to effectively plead their cases from opposite sides of the fence.
If you’re planning on a movie date this weekend with your girl friends (and even your beki gang), this would definitely be a fab flick to catch. If you aren’t in for the drama and sabunutan (yehesss! It’s THAT kind of Pinoy flick), then I still think it’s worth watching, if only for the many quotable lines.;-) I can already imagine my officemate Irish (watch it na, dear!) throw those winning lines with feeling.
Here’s one of my fave in the movie by the ever-iconic Carmi Martin: “Dahil ang mundo ay isang malaking Quiapo, maraming snatcher….” Pak!
